Place an empty component on the page where the Jira issue with chatter feeds will be visible.
To Turn on Sync on Case Chatter Post Sync with Jira Issue Comments please ensure that the version of your Peeklogic Jira Connector is higher than 1.50.
Click ‘Manage’ next to ‘Jira Admin Settings’ / Make sure the checkbox ‘Enable Case Feeds Sync’ is checked.
The above steps will allow you to pull Jira issue comments from Jira to Salesforce on the Page load and enable 2-way sync for Chatter Feeds and Jira Issue Comments.
Enable #tags when adding comments
Navigate to Edit Page on Cases, Opportunity object, or other object, where you decided to have your Jira issues linked. Click Edit Page.
We’ll be showing examples on Cases, but keep in mind that any Salesforce object is supported.
In this manual, we are assuming you have already passed the steps in the following manuals:
To share comments from Atlassian Jira, you could use # tags which will allow you to post comments in Salesforce chatter as Public, so it is visible directly in Salesforce Communities Chatter ( Salesforce Experience Cloud ).
Place Custom Component ‘Peeklogic JiraCaseFeeds’ on the page and Click on it.
Type the hashtag you plan to use on the Jira side when adding comments.
Going forward – every time when this hashtag is present when leaving a Jira comment on the Jira side, Peeklogic Jira Connector will make this comment Visible for All Users, and – visible for Salesforce Communities.
Navigate to Setup / Communities / Click on All Sites / Click on ‘Builder’ next to your Communities Site.
Find the Case Detail page in search and open it.
Or another object if you are using another one / Click on the Lightning Component ‘Peeklogic JiraCaseFeeds’ / type the same hashtag that you typed in one of the previous steps. In our сase, it’s #public. Save. Publish.
Going forward every time you leave a comment on the Jira side and type hashtag #public – the comment will be visible in Salesforce Communities Experience Cloud as well.
Comment will appear in the Salesforce Experience Cloud Communities Site.
Enable #tags when adding comments from Salesforce to Jira
Settings # for sync comments:
Setup -> Custom settings;
Jira Admin Settings -> Manage;
Edit -> find ‘Hashtags From SF To Jira’;
Add a word or phrase without spaces. Example #public.
Note: For comments to be synchronised, the ‘Enable Case Feeds Sync’ checkbox must be checked.
Now, all comments that were created with # will be synchronized to Jira.
