Add and configure Jira Project and Jira Issue Type

Click ‘Add New Projects’ to add Jira Projects, and make them available. This action will permit users to generate Jira Issues within the Projects you add during this process. Content Image

You’ll find a list of existing Projects within Jira.
Choose the ‘Config’ option next to the Project you wish to configure.

Select the Issue Types with which you would like to work and click ‘Save.

Click on ‘Project Settings’. This will allow to configure each Jira Issue type’s fields and make them available for Salesforce Users.

Click on the name of the Project and select Issue type to configure available Jira fields in Salesforce.

Choose the Jira Project fields you want to make accessible and visible to Salesforce users while they are viewing or creating Jira Issues within Salesforce.

Make sure all required fields are selected, and select additional fields you’d like to be available in Salesforce to create Jira Issues. Those fields will be available for users when viewing or creating Jira Issue from Salesforce.

 

1. Add new Issue Type
At any time, additional Jira Issue Types can be included for configurations by selecting ‘Project Settings’ and then clicking on the arrow next to the desired Project where you wish to add a Jira Issue Type.

 

2. Refresh Issue Metadata
If modifications are made in Jira, such as adding new fields, removing fields, or altering field titles, it’s necessary to refresh these changes in Salesforce to ensure that the data is up to date.

3. Delete Project
Should you no longer require a Project, you can remove it by navigating to ‘Project Settings’, clicking the arrow beside the unwanted Project, and choosing the delete option.

4. Visibility for Jira Projects Depending on Salesforce Record Types

Go to Peeklogic Settings and choose Project Accessibility Restriction in the menu near necessary Jira Project.

Move the Record Types in which current Jira Project should not be available to Selected.

5. Configuring Jira Project Visibility Based on Record Types

Follow these steps to control the visibility of a Jira Project based on Record Types in Salesforce:

Access Peeklogic Setup

  • Navigate to Peeklogic Setup in Salesforce.
  • Open the Project Settings section.

Select the Jira Project

  • Locate and select the Jira Project for which you want to configure visibility settings.

Open Project Accessibility Restrictions

  • Click on the Project Accessibility Restriction option to define visibility rules.

Configure Record Type Visibility

  • Choose the Salesforce Object and the corresponding Record Type for which visibility settings need to be applied.
  • Use the Available Columns section to specify Record Types where the Jira Project will be visible.
  • Use the Selected Columns section to specify Record Types where the Jira Project will be hidden.

  • Click the ‘+’ button to add additional Salesforce objects and configure visibility settings for them.
